The IB program requires a total of 20 hours of community service/cultural hours during the 9th and 10th grade. Students may use a visit to a museum, or a concert or play for their cultural hours (no more than 15 of these hours are allowed), and may use many different options for community service, such as tutoring elementary school students in a school setting, or volunteering at the library, a hospital, or other non profit agency. The forms to document these hours are found in a plastic holder outside of Mrs. Cavanaugh's office, and every student received one last Friday. These hours may be turned in to me as completed, or all at one time by May of their sophomore year.
