FAFSA – ATTENTION SENIORS
Just a reminder – the FAFSA application opened January 1, 2012. It will be extremely important that you and your parents/guardians complete the FAFSA as soon as possible, as the FAFSA will be used to determine financial aid packages, housing, etc. by colleges. A few things to remember:
You and your parent must request a PIN number to electronically sign your FAFSA. You can request a PIN number now by accessing the FAFSA Website (www.FederalStudentAid.ed.gov). It does take a few days to process your PIN request, so I would encourage you to request a PIN as soon as possible.
March 1, 2012 is the priority deadline for Financial Aid.
Several colleges and universities are now requiring applicants to complete the CSS Profile (through the CollegeBoard website) in addition to the FAFSA. The CSS Profile is used to award “Institutional” funds verses FAFSA which awards federal funds. Please check to see if the CSS Profile is a requirement of the application process to the school(s) you have applied to.
You must have an error free FAFSA on file to before Bright Futures awards will be sent to the Florida public university/college of your choice.
